This was the girls 1st away match playing up in the platinum league. The sun was beaming, the pitch looked like Alan titchmarsh was the local groundsman… 10/10.
The game started off at a quick pace with Anstey applying some early pressure. A brilliant battle on the wing between the 2 greyhounds @rosenugent and Ariella was a joy to watch.
Anstey dominated the 1st half and Dolcee was kept on her toes in goal. An outstanding performance between the sticks pulling off saves beyond her years.
With no subs for the 2nd game running, the girls dug in deep and battled right to the end. Ava, Elin and Leah put in a massive shift covering so much ground. But with Anstey being able to add fresh faces into the game it was a hard task for the girls.
Anstey continued to apply pressure in the 2nd half. Brooke up front ran the channels well and was unfortunate not to convert a great chance mid way into the 2nd half.
I couldn’t ask any more of our defence. Alice, Eden and Ciara made some excellent tackles. Trying to play out from the back and kept composed from start to finish.
The girls have made me so proud and are all working so hard each week. To start the season in u10s, then playing up at u11s in bronze from October, making it all the way to Platinum in such a short time is a fantastic achievement.
