Sunday, our U10 Lionesses faced off against Ashfordby Amateurs on home turf, and despite missing a few key players due to illness—including our goalkeeper—the team showcased incredible resilience and spirit throughout the match! 
The first half was a thrilling contest, with both teams creating numerous chances. However, it was Ashfordby who managed to break the deadlock early in the second half, demonstrating a sharper edge in front of goal. While our Lionesses generated plenty of opportunities to get back into the game, it simply wasn’t our day. 
This highlights areas we can improve upon in training sessions ahead!
The match featured some brilliant moments of football from both sides, along with a few scrappy plays. 
Coach’s Player of the Match: Isla! She started strong in midfield and later transitioned to the left side of defence, delivering a solid performance with her exceptional marking and tackling.
Parents’ Player of the Match: Amelie, who earned this accolade for her relentless pressing in the second half. Her efforts were instrumental in sparking several attacks, putting pressure on the opposition’s defence.
