Epworth Forest Tigresses 
– Rugby Town
This week the Tigresses came up against a much changed and improved Rugby Town since they last met. Both teams played their respects for a minutes silence before the game got underway.
The girls started fairly strongly creating a few good chances, with Lillie coming closest hitting the crossbar. Lillie did find the back of the net soon after from a good ball into the box from the left from Heidi to put Epworth ahead. Epworth’s second goal came in the second half with Lola getting on the end of Bella’s corner with a lovely first time finish on her debut.
Some good pressing from Rugby while we were playing out from the back gave them a chance to pull one back which they took. And after a confusing few minutes where an indirect free kick was awarded, then a penalty they levelled the score. A frustrating end to a game where perhaps the scoreline didn’t reflect the possession but the girls now move on and look forward to their first cup game next week.
