🌟 Another engaging weekend for the Epworth Forest U10 Lionesses as we played our second match in the Gold League, hosting the Hinckley Borough FC U10 Comets! 🌟
In a show of respect, both teams began the game with a moment of silence to honor Remembrance Day, which was observed beautifully by all.
Our girls kicked off strong, showcasing impressive passing and transitions in their attacking play. Unfortunately, we lost our goalkeeper, Emily, in the first half due to illness, which posed a challenge for the team, we hope she feels better soon. Despite the girls creating several opportunities, Hinckley’s forwards proved to be more clinical, displaying good skill and posing a constant threat.
Special congratulations to Lottie, who was named Parents’ Player of the Match for her attacking prowess, and Maya, who earned Coaches’ Player of the Match for her tenacity in tackling stopping numerous Hinckley attacks.
While the result wasn’t what we had hoped for, we’re proud of the team’s efforts and are looking forward to the next game! 💪⚽️
