The U10 Lionesses travelled away to face Nuneaton Borough U10 in an exciting match! โฝ๏ธ The Lionesses started a bit slow, and for the first 15 minutes, both teams created their fair share of chances, testing each goalkeeper. Amber was especially called into action, making some crucial saves! ๐งค
It was a physical game, with strong challenges coming in from both sides, a proper battle in the midfield today, with Lottie, Layla, and Daisy putting in some strong tackles and showcasing their determination! ๐ช
The opponents relied heavily on launching the ball long (route 1), which caught us off guard initially. ๐ฎ However, the Lionesses quickly found their rhythm, passing and moving the ball effectively, dominating possession for the remainder of the match. ๐ It was fantastic to see the girls executing triangles and one-twos, something we’ve been focusing on in training! ๐โจAmber’s performance between the sticks earned her the Parents’ Player of the Match for her crucial saves, while the Coaches’ Player of the Match was awarded to Layla, who excelled in the central midfield roleโa position she hasn’t played much before. She was the catalyst for a number of our attacks today! ๐
Despite Nuneaton’s keeper making several impressive saves to keep them in the match during the second half, it just wasnโt our day.
Onwards and upwards, Lionesses! ๐ชโค๏ธ
