Perfect sunny conditions this Sunday at Holmes Park for the U12 Tigresses, against Harborough Town in a U13 Platinum League fixture.
Neat and quick passing football was the order of the day and it didn’t take long for the first goal to come, a nice move finished well by Lillie assisted by Lola. Lillie became provider next with a looping cross into the box, which fell to Willow positioned in front of goal to make it two. Lola added a third before half time with a well taken shot at the edge of the area.
The second half started in similar fashion with the fourth goal coming when a shot from Orla was parried by the keeper and slotted in by Willow who was first to follow it up. Willow completed her hat-trick shortly afterwards after some great work by Lola on the right beating a few players before crossing the ball in for a cool finish. A lovely goal from Emmie next, then Lola, Niah and Bella completed the goal tally, before the full time whistle.
The girls could have had more with Bella and Poppy both hitting the crossbar, and a shout out to the defence who kept Harborough’s lively forward quiet all game. A strong all round performance keeps the Tigresses firmly at the top of the table, before they break for a League Cup match next week.
With thanks as always to our sponsors CRG Diagnostics.
