Bears were hit with two more injury blows this week, with Lacey and Zarah both unable to play.
This put 4 girls out of contention, but luckily Olivia was back from her injury layoff and raring to go.
Olivia and Laila started well as a front two pressuring Barwell consistently, but it was Khiah who opened the scoring on 14 mins.
Lobbing the keeper from distance after an initial scramble in area with a really lovely strike.
The minutes ticked on and although pressuring Bears couldn’t capitalise further.
Despite pressure from Bears it remained 1-0 at the break. Just after the restart Laila slotted one home from 6 yds out after a superb cross from Jasmeen.
Khiah hit her brace 8 mins later and Laila made it 4 soon after.
The Bears 5th goal by Laila, sealed her hat trick rewarding another hard working performance, and came from another Jasmeen cross.
Olivia continued to press Barwell’s defence forcing two stops from their keeper before a 3rd effort fell loose and was slotted home by Jasmeen.
Barwell continued to work and pressure after two outfield players succumbed to injuries and they almost had to sub their goalie, but she bravely played on.
In the last minute Kearna, who had little else to do in this half, came bravely out and blocked a 1 on 1 effort with a superb save to preserve another clean sheet.
The midfield adapted well to the forced changes and it was another resilient display by Bears.
Three big games to go!
Parents POTM went to Olivia for her guts and determination in her first game back.
