Although we didn’t convert as many chances as we could have, it was evident that we had the upper hand for most of the game. Their goalkeeper made some impressive saves 🧤
It was fantastic to see the style of football we’ve been practising come to life! Our girls utilised the width of the pitch, demonstrated good movement on and off the ball, switching play effectively. Maya set the tone for the lionesses with her relentless pressing, winning the ball and setting Isla up who was on fire throughout the match and rightfully earned the Parents’ Player of the Match award! 🔥👏
Our starting midfield trio of Isla, Daisy, and Layla was ever-present, constantly winning the ball back, moving it around and posing a threat to the opposition. Defensively, Miya and Sienna were as solid as ever, ensuring our backline remained strong. Our game-changers—Lottie, Megan, Alivia, and Gursimran—came on and made a significant impact for the team making their presence known 🙌
Choosing a Player of the Match was a tough task for the coaches this week, as every girl played their hearts out. In the end, Sienna was awarded the honours for her outstanding display at the heart of our defence—well done, Sienna! 🎉👏
