It was a chilly morning for the Epworth Forest U11 Lionesses as they played their first match in a long time, and with uncertainty about how the team would perform. The game got off to a challenging start when Groby Junior Vixens applied some early pressure leaving the Lionesses with a tough task ahead.
However, the girls quickly regrouped, showing remarkable resilience and determination. Despite the early setback, they battled hard throughout the match, working together as a unit. Esha was named Parent’s Player of the Match for her tireless effort and battling spirit in midfield, while Daisy covered a huge amount of ground and was awarded Player of the Week for her outstanding energy and commitment.
The girls showed significant improvement as the game progressed, displaying a never-give-up attitude. Well done to all the players – this was a fantastic start to the new year.
