Epworth Forest U12 Panthers Vs Rugby Borough Thundercats… Result… A glorious 0-0 draw… Football was certainly the winner today!
With some tough challenges on the horizon, Sunday was the day that potentially defined the Panthers season. It’s been a journey adjusting to player changes, platinum level football, and quite simply life! At times a complete roller coaster, but the Panthers have all worked hard for every win and every moment. Today the girls tipied that effort across the park.
Set a new challenge of a new formation to counter a strong Rugby attack, the girls really played smart. Disciplined and determined, they stuck to their task. High praise for the whole defence but a special mention for Victoria who played a new role amazingly. Our star of the week though was Millie. Commander at the back, defending with speed and super strength, nothing got past her and her team. Fhallon pulled out a couple of worldie saves as we’ve come to rely on, but Millie and the defence didn’t give Rugby many chances at all. A veritable sea wall defence and not a bus in sight.
The Panthers still managed to mount several strong attacks with some great passing moves between Sienna, Bella, Rivah, Keira and Grace! They were unlucky not to get a smash a grab result with only the dastardly Epworth pitch bobble causing a sure fire goal to squirm wide.
Parents and coach alike were super proud of all the effort against our friends and equally strong Rugby Borough.
At times absolute torment for the coaches and parents, but definitely an enjoyable one for the neutrals!
Next step… The top 4! Wish us luck! #pantherpanther
And a happy mother’s day and glorious thank you for all the love and support for their wonderful girls! Mum’s, they couldn’t do it without you!
