League action this Sunday for the U12 Tigresses against a strong and physical Dunton & Broughton side, who have been in good form of late. The strong wind and slope were on our side in the first half and most of the play took place in the Dunton half, with credit to their defence who dealt with constant pressure. Deadlock was broken when a perfectly placed Poppy G corner fell nicely for Lola to hit a first time shot into the net. A few more chances came our way before half time but none could find the back of the net.
The second half started with more pressing, against the wind this time, with the girls playing some lovely composed football out from the back when needed. Dunton came close to equalising when a long range effort rattled back off the cross-bar, but it was persistent pressure from the Tigresses again that eventually paid off just before the full time whistle. Lillie turned and finished into the bottom corner after Lola had done well to control the ball in the area. This secured the win and our place at the top of the table. Credit must go to both teams for battling in the really difficult windy conditions.
With thanks as always to our sponsors CRG Diagnostics.
