This weekend saw the Tigresses return to league action, traveling to Harborough Town on a challenging wet and windy morning. Despite injuries and holidays reducing the squad to the bare 11, the team showed incredible determination from the start.
With the wind in their favor during the first half, the Tigresses struck quickly with two goals from newest recruit, Lola, giving the team an early advantage. Emmie came close with some impressive long-range efforts before setting up Bella for a well-taken third goal.
The second half was tougher, with no subs and the wind now against them. Harborough Town capitalised with a goal from a corner that deflected off an Epworth player. But the Tigresses dug deep, creating more chances, including Niah’s shot off the crossbar and a disallowed goal for Emmie after a beautiful team move.
At full-time, the Tigresses secured a 3-1 victory—a fantastic result given the conditions and challenges.
