U13 Bears County Cup Match Report

Sporting Markfield v Epworth Forest Bears u13s
County Cup 2nd round

The Bears faced a tough trip away to Markfield in the County Cup.
Goalkeeper Kearna was ruled out last minute due to illness, a huge blow for Bears.
Lacey bravely stepped in to replace her, making a couple of saves early on.
However, it didn’t take long for a side that have previously won the cup to take the lead, with a lovely strike curled in from the edge of the box.
The large pitch and artificial surface made for a high tempo game against a very fit and organised Markfield team.
The Bears continued to battle but unfortunately were 4-0 down at the break.
Laila stepped in to go between the posts second half, making some very good saves.
Bears found a bit more momentum in the 2nd half but were unable to capitalise and unfortunately conceded a further 3 goals.
The game finishing 7-0, a tough day at the office against a top tier side, but still managed to play some good football and work hard to the end.
Parents Player of the Match was Lacey for performance in goal 1st half and working so hard on the pitch 2nd half.
