Tough test for the girls this week coming up against Sporting Markfield, another unbeaten team in the league. The game started in a frantic fashion with two quick goals, with Markfield taking the lead then Willow cancelling out their goal with a well placed finish. Markfield took the lead again after a counter attack but Prim fired home to make it 2-2 at half time.
The girls continued to battle well in an evenly contested second half, until Alice knocked the ball over the top for Bella to run onto and slot calmly past the keeper. Bella, who was dangerous on the attack all game became the provider next, shooting well to see the ball hit the crossbar and bounce down for Willow to tap in, giving us a two goal cushion that remained at the final whistle.
An outstanding performance from the whole team, any of the girls could have been awarded player of the match, with particular shout outs to Bella, Willow and Poppy M. But parents player this week went to Franki for great battling and tackling.
