Match Report: Epworth Forest U10 Lionesses

This past Sunday, the Epworth Forest U10 Lionesses played away against FC Burbage in a match that the saying “a game of two halves” comes to mind. The Lionesses started off slowly, allowing FC Burbage to take the advantage as they went into the break. However, the second half saw the Lionesses come out strong with their high pressing and effective counter-attacking football, however allowed FC Burbage to get back into the game in the final minutes. Both teams created and capitalised on equal opportunities throughout the match, resulting in an exciting finish that could have swung either way.

A special mention goes to Isla, whose determination and work rate in the second half truly stood out. She set the tone for pressing and initiated several counter-attacks, earning her both the Coach’s Player of the Week and Parent’s Player of the Week awards.
