Epworth Forest Tigresses –
Rugby Borough Panthera
The Tigresses finally got to play at their home ground Holmes Park this morning. A few players down due to injury they came up against a strong and physical side. Numerous chances came our way in the first half with Bella going close a few times, Emmie hitting the post and Willow striking a good free kick after their keeper handled outside the area. Unfortunately the girls couldn’t capitalise on their chances and just before half time were caught on the break and Rugby took their chance well going into the break in front.
The second half started in high tempo and the girls had another few good chances to get on the score sheet. Finally their perseverance was rewarded when Bella was fouled and stood up to calmly place the penalty kick into the net. Coming up against a strong defence the Tigresses couldn’t get on the scoresheet again and a draw was the final result.
After the match the girls presented Prim with a get well soon gift. She is an amazing young lady and has taken the last week in her stride. The team and club are all so proud of you and can’t wait to have you back playing very soon.
Thank you as always to our sponsors CRG diagnostics.
